The University has four quarterly graduation cycles and one annual Commencement ceremony.
If you graduate in the December 2025, March 2026, June 2026, or September 2026 cycles, you are eligible to participate in the Commencement ceremony on September 26, 2026.
Although “graduation” and “commencement” are sometimes used interchangeably, they refer to different parts of your academic journey:
- Graduation is the official process of reviewing your academic record, certifying your degree, and conferring your diploma. It is required for all students who complete their degree requirements.
- Commencement is an optional celebratory ceremony held annually in the fall.
You can read more about the differences between graduation and commencement on the website.
Once you apply for graduation and your degree has been certified and conferred by the Board of Trustees, you will be included in the group of graduates who receive Commencement communications in the summer before the ceremony.
